People were lined up to go in before it opened. That’s a good sign. High quality pastries and baguettes. Pastries aren’t overly sweet, which is what I don’t like about a lot of other places. Decent prices, considering the quality. Didn’t try the coffee

Collette is a great bakery that has some of the best French pastries that you can get in this area. I really like their croissants, both chocolate and plain. I have had a few other pastries as well and also really enjoyed them.

I went in to buy some thing sweet and they have 1 million different new pastries and sandwich thingies, like an enclosed grilled cheese sandwich of some kind and pizza pocket thingy along with several beautiful looking french pastries. A lady who was waiting outside prior to opening at about 7:30am raved about the “Saturday only” Almond chocolate croissants and I had bought one with chocolate.(they have almond croissabts too) It is crunchy and chewy-ish with some nice sweet flavors on the inside and out. I give it a 10! Does not seem like a fluffy thin latered usual croissant with minimal flavor. It is like a croissant on steroids or growth hormone! Get it! You will love it-Guarantee!

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pastries: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Colette Bakery in Melrose has some of the best pastries around! I’m a sucker for chocolate croissants, and the Cho-colette croissant at Colette is so delicious (pro tip, take the croissant home and toss in the air fryer to warm the pastry!) Staff at Colette in Melrose are always so friendly. Love stopping in for our weekend pastry needs every chance we get!

Absolutely delicious pastries and baked goods, with a charming location and kind staff. There was a line of about 6 people in front of us when we arrived around 10am on a Saturday, so try to spare some time for going there on a weekend. We will definitely try to go back again.

Colette Bakery is a great bakery that has a lot of fresh baked goods and drinks. They were so warm and inviting people. The chocolate croissant is any chocolate person’s dream. The croissant was fresh, flaky, and cooked to perfection. I also really enjoyed the ham and cheese and croissant; but I wish it had more filling. The apple turnover was balanced with classic apple filling. It tasted super fresh, flaky, and delicious. The Buche chocolate caramel was delightful chocolate mouse and rich dark chocolate ganache. It’s place I hope to come back to! It’s worth a stop for sure. It’s a sweet gem in Melrose.

Legit French bakery with amazing sweet and savory pastries and super tasty coffee. I like my coffee boiling hot and they heated the milk for me ...with a huge smile. Take out only.

Was in the area for a convention and happily stumbled onto Colette's. The ladies working the counter were very pleasant and helpful. The croissants we purchased were absolutely delicious, while the macarons were great as well. Street parking was a bit of a challenge but worth the effort. Definitely would stop again if we are in the area.

Undisputed local champion for authentic French pastries. Colette was one of the very first bakeries I visited in the Boston area, so I recently stopped by this new Melrose outpost to check out their updated selections. I’m not sure if they maintain a different menu for each location, but much of the regular pastry section looked different from what I remember at their original Medford location years ago. We picked up a mix of the basics (Pain Suisse, Cannelé, and Chouquettes) alongside some more unique options like a praline tart, a Chicken curry croissant, and a Chorizette. And not a single miss in the box. When you have excellent flour, butter, and sugar, you don't need to overcomplicate things. The pastries here aren’t over-stimulating or embellished by a mountain of excess butter and sugar. It's just pure technique, and it still makes them better than most pastries you can get around Boston. My absolute favorites, though, were the savory options. Both the Chicken curry croissant and the Chorizette had impeccable laminations. I especially loved the subtle, balanced seasoning on the Chorizette. Despite having feta and chorizo on top, it wasn’t salty at all, and the baked bell peppers gave it a refreshing balance.
